Meet Constance Grayson

Hello. I am Constance Grayson. I live in Lexington, Kentucky and work at my studio, Studio 645. My primary artistic interests are in color, form and texture. I think this is the result of many years of my childhood spent learning traditional quilting from my Appalachian aunts. Sadly, I never finished any quilt I began. I did, however, come away with a lasting love for the fabrics, colors and patterns my aunts used in their quilts. I have incorporated that work into my art using fabric collage, painting and mixed media techniques. My motto is an Italian phrase “Niente senza gioia”—nothing without joy. I endeavor to find the joy in the work I do and I hope that this joy is visible to the viewer.
